Dororo : A masterpiece
An anime review with great spoilers, ahh ! gomen (<_<)
The path of Vengeance lead’s you to kill everyone who is on the way, but will it be worth it, that your desire of vengeance after killing everyone that is on your way or it is a fate of human nature that can’t be change again ?
Well, a great utilitarianism has been demonstrated by this anime
Utilitarianism : It is a theory of morality that advocates action that foster happiness and oppose actions that cause unhappiness. In other words utilitarianism promotes “ the great amount of good for the greatest number of people.”
Lessgooh to the journey of young Hyakkimaru (mc) who wanders the land of Japan and at a young age he choose the path of vengeance in order to fulfill his ambition (in my opinion it is not a ambition but a path that can change anytime)
why he chooses that path ?
Well, Hyakkimaru’s father Kagemitsu Daigo who have no choice but to give the life of his own child (Hyakkimaru) or you can say, a deal fixed to the twelve Demons, in order to save the land and the peoples of his territory.
Well, after the born of Daigo’s first child (Hyakkimaru) Hyakkimaru,s mom (Nui no kata) and the people were shocked by the first and last appearance of the poor child, the child has no eyes, limbs, nose, skin, arms, and legs, but still his lungs were working and he seem to be alive. Then Daigo suddenly realizes that the deal with the demons are working but how could the child still alive after taking the essential parts of his body even the skin (actually the twelfth demon can’t devour him) , but Daigo let the child to die but his wife doesn’t want too, (after all she is a mother) the child was raised in the hand of Jukai.
Jukai raised him well, training him in sword fighting and giving him his prosthesis as well as his own name ( yes the name was given by Jukai)
After wards Hyakkimaru goes for his journey . Every time Hyakkimaru eliminates a demon, he retrieves one of his body parts. Hyakkimaru rescues a boy thief named Dororo from a band of men whom the young boy tried to rob. Together they travel the countryside in search of the demons who possess Hyakkimaru’s parts. Throughout their travels, they face a host of monsters and ghosts.
Now, talking about biwamaru.
Biwamaru (琵琶丸, Biwamaru) is a blind, traveling lute priest and an ally to Dororo and Hyakkimaru. Previously it was alluded that Biwamaru was a samurai while speaking to Dororo in the final episode.
Yes, Hyakkimaru was in love.
Mio (ミオ, Mio) was a young girl who lived in an abandoned temple with orphans who lost their parents in the war. In order to provide food for the children, she serves both of the warring clans during night time as a prostitute. She was Hyakkimaru’s love interest. Unfortunately she died in the temple by the samurai’s of Daigo’s.
Who is tohomaru ?
Tahomaru (多 宝 丸, Tahōmaru) is Dororo’s secondary antagonist. He is the second son of Kagemitsu Daigo and Lady Nui no Kata as well as the younger brother of Hyakkimaru by one year.
Tahomaru suspects that Hyakkimaru might be the answer to his parents’ secret and eventually learned that Hyakkimaru turned out to be his lost brother. Tahomaru then fought against Hyakkimaru for the sake of his land but did not win and unfortunately lost his right eye in the process.
Jukai thinks that his words are having reverse effect while raising Hyakkimaru, because Hyakkimaru was tend to kill all the demons in order to retrieve his body parts also hyakkimaru was willing to kill everyone who is included in his vengeaance path.
At the end Hyakkimaru’s mother and his brother with Jukai were sacrificed their life as they felt regret of their past mistakes they have done so in order to call it a justice to hyakkimaru they died.
As Biwamaru said to Dororo that don’t let hyakkimaru “Be the demon that is hidding in the cave, make the demon is kind”
Dont worry about Hyakkimaru that he will become a demon, During the journey, Dororo teaches him to be human, not to kill the innocent ones.
In my opinion, this anime is Great in all aspects. Sorry for the long Description, I can’t add and write all the things though so must watch it.
At last sorry for the spoilers.
